Twin Cities House Cleaning FAQ

Book Your Clean
What is the Home Stewardship Program and how does it work?

The Home Stewardship Program is our recurring cleaning service designed to keep your home at a consistent, elevated standard between visits rather than letting buildup accumulate and require a reset. We build a schedule around your calendar (weekly, bi-weekly or monthly), establish a detailed room-by-room checklist for your specific home, and rotate through deeper detail areas on each visit so the whole home stays at a deep-clean level over time. You tell us your priorities, the rooms that matter most, the surfaces you’re particular about, and we build around that. Most clients start with a deep clean first so the program begins from a true baseline.

How is a deep clean different from a regular cleaning visit?

A regular visit maintains the surfaces that get dirty every week: floors, counters, bathrooms, dusting. A deep clean goes after everything that routine visits skip. That means wet-wiping ceiling fans, light fixtures and vents; cleaning doors, door frames, doorknobs and light switch plates; scrubbing baseboards; vacuuming the tops of curtains; and getting inside the details that collect grime over time. Deep cleans take noticeably longer, and that’s by design. Common reasons clients book one: spring cleaning, before hosting guests or a holiday gathering, before putting a home on the market, or as the starting point before enrolling in a recurring program.

When should I schedule a deep clean versus starting with recurring service right away?

If it’s been a while since your home had a thorough clean, starting with a deep clean first is worth it. It gets every surface to the same baseline so your recurring visits stay light and effective rather than playing catch-up each time. If your home is already in great shape and you’re mainly looking for consistent upkeep going forward, you can move straight into a recurring plan. We’ll talk through what makes sense for your home before we schedule anything.

What does a move-in or move-out cleaning include?

Move-in and move-out cleans are done in an empty or nearly empty home and go further than a standard visit. You can expect kitchen counters, sinks and backsplashes cleaned and sanitized; bathrooms scrubbed and disinfected top to bottom; all surfaces dusted including baseboards, ceiling fans and light fixtures; and floors vacuumed or mopped with attention to corners and edges. Common add-ons include inside the oven and refrigerator, inside cabinets and drawers, and wall washing. Whether you’re a renter trying to get your deposit back, a seller prepping for showings, or a buyer who wants a fresh start before you move a single box in, we scope the clean to what that moment actually calls for.

Do I need to be home when the cleaning crew arrives?

You don’t. Most of our clients give us a key or entry code and go about their day. We handle key and code information with care and follow a consistent entry procedure every visit. You’ll receive an arrival notification and a post-clean update so you always know when the team came and when they finished. If there are areas or items you’d like us to leave alone, just let us know and we note it on your account.

How do I know the cleaners coming into my home are trustworthy?

Every Divine Shine crew member is background-checked, not just insured and bonded. We’re also fully covered for liability and workers’ compensation, so you’re protected if anything is damaged or if someone on our team is injured while on your property. You don’t have to take that on. Our 200-plus five-star reviews reflect what clients actually experience when they open the door after we leave, and we’d rather earn that trust visit by visit than just ask you to take our word for it.

What does it mean that your crews are Certified Professional Cleaning Crews?

Certification means our crews are trained to a defined standard, not just handed a mop and a bucket. They know which products to use on which surfaces, how to clean without damaging finishes, and how to work through a home systematically so nothing gets missed. It also means the quality you get on visit one is the same quality you get on visit twenty, regardless of which certified crew member is on your job that day.

Do you offer apartment cleaning for renters or property managers?

Yes. We clean apartments for individual renters (move-in, move-out or recurring) and for property managers turning units between tenants. The scope depends on what the situation calls for: a deep clean and disinfection for a unit coming back online, a move-out clean timed to an inspection, or ongoing upkeep for occupied units. If you manage multiple units, we can build a consistent scope across all of them.

What commercial cleaning services does Divine Shine offer?

Beyond residential work, we serve commercial clients across the Twin Cities with janitorial services, post-construction cleaning, floor stripping and waxing, window cleaning and carpet cleaning. Post-construction cleaning is especially detailed work. Contractors remove major debris, but the fine dust left on every surface, fresh trim, new fixtures, freshly painted walls, needs a different approach, and we know how to remove it without scuffing or lifting delicate new finishes.

How much does house cleaning cost in the Twin Cities?

We quote every home individually because the right scope is different for every client. The type of clean matters: a deep clean or move-out clean takes longer than a recurring maintenance visit. The size of the home, how often you want service, and any add-ons (inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, inside cabinets) all factor in. Recurring service also reduces buildup between visits, which means each visit takes less intensive work over time. Reach out and we’ll put together a quote built around your home, not a one-size package.
